PALASIK is a period horror piece rooted in Southeast Asian folklore. The Palasik is a ghostly entity that preys on unborn babies, drawn to mothers deemed immoral—those who conceive out of wedlock or indulge in vice. Blending psychological terror with themes of guilt and societal shame, the film unravels the haunting fear women faced—and still do—under the weight of judgment and tradition.
